The Magach 6B Gal Batash is actually the US-made M60A1 Patton Main Battle Tank, heavily modified and featuring improvements in all the tank's systems, such as armor protection, the fire control system, engine power, and other improvements. These tanks represent the latest state-of-the-art hybrid configuration of the Magach (Patton) tank and is considered to be the best amongst the many derivatives. The tank began service in the security role during the last years of the IDF's deployment in the security zone in South Lebanon.
